Kodali Homestays ("we", "us", "our") operates the booking website at kodalihomestays.com. This page explains what information we collect from guests who use this site, why we collect it, and how it's handled.

Information we collect

When you create an account or make a booking, we collect:

• Your name, email address, and phone number
• A photo of a government-issued ID (Aadhaar, PAN, passport, or driving licence), required before payment for check-in verification
• Refund payout details (UPI ID, or bank account number and IFSC), used only if we ever need to issue a manual refund
• Booking details — room, dates, number of guests
• Messages you send us through the site's contact form or in-app chat
• If you sign in with Google or Facebook, the name, email, and profile photo those providers share with us

We do not collect or store your payment card, UPI, or bank login details ourselves — those are handled directly by our payment processor, Razorpay (see below).

How we use this information

• To create and manage your account and bookings
• To verify your identity at check-in
• To process payments and, when applicable, refunds
• To send booking confirmations, cancellation notices, check-in/check-out reminders, and replies to messages you send us — by email and/or as in-app messages
• To respond to enquiries sent through the contact form

Who we share it with

We use the following third-party services to run this site. Each only receives the information necessary to perform its function:

• Google Firebase (Google Cloud) — hosts the website, stores account and booking data, and handles sign-in
• Razorpay — processes payments and refunds; card, UPI, and bank details are handled entirely on their systems, never ours
• SendGrid — delivers confirmation, cancellation, and check-in/check-out emails
• Google and Facebook — only if you choose to sign in using one of those accounts

We never sell your personal information, and we don't share it with anyone else for marketing purposes.

Your ID photo and refund details

Your uploaded ID photo is private — only you and the property's admin can view it. It is used solely to verify your identity ahead of check-in. Refund payout details are used only if a manual refund is ever needed; ordinary cancellations are refunded automatically to your original payment method through Razorpay.

Data retention

We retain booking records for as long as needed for legitimate business purposes (accounting, dispute resolution, and legal requirements). You can ask us to delete your account and associated data at any time by contacting us using the details below, subject to any records we're required to keep by law.

Your choices

• You can review and update your name and phone number any time from "My Profile" in your account.
• You can request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing us.
• You can decline to sign in with Google/Facebook and use email/password instead.
